Chap Olympics

I will now shamelessly promote This Event, as I wish the gentlemen running it to make me the official 'live-blogger' of the games.

I shall be entering the Hop, Skip and G+T, plus, I really must enter 'Bounders'. That has me to a tee. With any luck I could persuade my female readership to join me in this exercise, thereby underlying my caddish nature.

Every young lady of style and taste loves a cad, sir! At least, she does if she went to my kind of school ...

My kind of school bred them!
This appears to be becoming an 'arrangement'.
I shall procure entry to this event, and we should make further arrangements. I am sure you have a digital camera for journalistic purposes, of course.....

Crikey, looks like it's a date! Not sure what you want the camera for but perhaps that question is best left unasked ... Quick security check (as my mother taught me to be very careful about meeting strange men from the internet) - you're not a serial killer, are you? No? That's ok then.

Nope, old gel, not killed any cereals this year.
Camera is in the name of modern gonzo journalism. Think Hunter S meets Noel Coward.
We can use it to record the event, blog live as it happens, that sort of thing.
All terribly, terribly modern.
So indeed - it would appear to be a 'date'.
I believe a smiley could be called for... :-)

Or we could just have a hoot and get 'very, very drunk'

'Very very drunk' is mandatory, is it not?! Unfortunately I lack a digicam at the mo (it gave up the ghost in Havana), but perhaps I shall acquire one - or borrow someone else's. Must now give furious thought to what to wear. I shall borrow my papa's Panama, for starters.

Indeed attire is highly critical. I was thinking of my own Panama, and possibly tropical kit complete with Sam-Browne belt. Or Pith Helmet. But I am tending towards caddish foreign correspondant look.

I beleive tradition demands that we swap details. I have comment moderation on, so I am able to receive any electronic details you may wish to divulge - that we may coordinate the appropriate approach to said day's jollity.
And no - not watching the cup. Shame they can't both lose.
